I have a few suggestions that could make it look better , I don't normally help others ,but since you are one of my buds I really want to help you outΒ
So here is what you could do:
1. Make use of the bluring tool - it can gratly improve your drawing depending on how you use it
2. Try using 3 types of skin colour at the same time - gives more depth to the character
3. Depending on the light sourceΒ make the shadows and light shadows lighter or darker ^^ - a good shade aways improves
4. Try making a simple background but syncronised with the light source , example - use darker colours for the darker parts and blur them together with the lighter parts ( the lighter parts should be where the lightsource is coming from and the darker where its going)
5.Try implementing the blur and light shadows + dark shadows to the eyes - Works amazing
6. try using the brush tool for the hair while drawing the dark shadows - it really helps
