I've got a question, if you wouldn't mind hearing me out.
Would you mind if I "pixelized" your picture in Minecraft? I've done it with a couple of the BF3/BC2 soldiers. Once I saw yours, I knew I just had to do the same. I'll be sure to put your name in the description and link to your photo as the original.

I basically took the image of the skull, slapped it over the soldier's layer, trimmed the shape (using a layer mask so mistakes can easily be corrected) so it matches with the helmet and straps, then added layers on top of that (clipped) with black and orange (brush) to show depth, shadows and the fire's glow. if you know your PS terms, this should make sense...if not, I recommend learning clipping masks, layer masks and non-destructive editing. it really helps.
