My latest obsession (no surprise there), Tsubasa Resevoir ChroniclesI've always loved CLAMP...but, Holy Shit. This is an EXCELLENT manga! Excellent! I'm a bit disappointed in the anime. For as beautiful and detailed as the manga is, the animation doesn't do it justice. Just my opinion. If it was animated like Eureka7 (also EXCELLENT) it would be AWESOME beyond belief.
Anyway...this is Fai D. Flowright, the magician from Celes. It was done entirely on tablet, so it's a bit rough around the edges. Meh.
I could say he's my fave character (cause I have this soft spot for cute blondes), but Kurogane is equally as loved! All the characters are so wonderful, I couldn't possibly pick a fave. And, it's so lovely to see all of CLAMP's old characters make appearances again! I'm hooked. And hopeless.

I agree! Fai totally should have gotten floating flowers, but it was a shonen series, and I guess that's why CLAMP opted out.

i haven't read more than the first book of the manga..... is the anime out in america? usually they do some pretty heavy clean up on clamp animations before releasing them in the us....
is this the guy in the parka? i like the sparkly background

The manga is excellent! And, it's been licensed (just the first season), but it's not out in America yet (I'm kinda sure...). I wonder though, if cleaning it up would make it look better? Aaaand, I HATE American voice actors, so I don't really like to watch anime in anything but Japanese.

most likely. i mean have you seen how crappy the first eva release is compared to the remastered version? check out the original airing of ccs and then compare it to the american release.... huuuuge difference. i dont mind dubs at all i can totally deal. i like subs a lot better of course. plus some of the voice actors seem like pretty cool people... like the guy who does ed elric's voice. he was nice.

I never noticed the diff since most of the anime I watch is original, but I can see how remastered would be nice. It wouldn't really improve the quality much, though. That's just my over-critical opinion though. I don't think they could clean up Tsubasa too well (or bother, since it's not really popular here). And, the guy that does Elric's voice is good, but they OVER USE him. He's in like every anime series on our tv that has a young dude. They reuse them too much and some of them should just quit. They don't put ANY emotion into their voice, like they don't take it seriously. It bothers me (as well as entirely ruining the feel of the anime, like Naruto for example....I CAN'T take it seriously dubbed). They should have passion for their work like the Japanese! I do looooove the dude that did Spike's voice, though (and also Mugen!). He's an excellent voice actor....though he mispronounced "yakuza" which was horrifying to me..........it really isn't that hard to pronounce by english phoenetic standards.

yeah i hear vic msomethingsomething (i have no idea how to spell his name) everywhere! all kinds of anime! jeeez and he's always an angry little boy, so weird! i laughed my ass off at the naruto dub. i'd love to get in a street brawl with wendee lee. some voice actors are just horrible, but then it's not taken as seriously here i suppose. but then it could be the budget.... because the voice actors for invader zim were fun, avatar has pretty good voice actors... ummm all nick shows... i really cant complain. But that's american animation (which i think adore above all others). Don't get me wrong, i've been watching anime since i was a baby lol - my parents thought it was important for me to .... have asian culture in my life lol.

Oh, good! I'm not the only one who laughed at the Naruto voices! Kakashi's is just....*cringe* TERRIBLE. Some of the others weren't half bad...but I still have a hard time watching it.
And, your parents thought Aisan culture was important for you? That's awesome! Cultural parents are good parents.
