Zoom in for better quality & details.
Yes, it's a bit too sharp, but this was as close as I could get without having my other camera for zoom. There was a lot more in this photo, but I cropped it out. I personally have never seen a blue heron do this, so I was a bit baffled at the display. I looked it up and it's no more than the large bird catching some sun and warming its wings up. It certaintly looked much bigger than it usually did, even from a distance.

Yes, you can look up "Blue Heron Sunbathing" and those types of images will come up. Probably because they're wingspan is large they can't fan them out to the sides like other birds.
