Description Entry for the Autumn contest [link] over at

I really wanted to do a bright colourful picture for the Autumn theme!
The Pokemon are all Shinys, I chose those particular ones because I thought they would fit with the forest setting and because all their Shiny colours were sort of Autumn colours (yellows, browns oranges etc)

This took me ages! I started drawing it about 2 weeks ago but I got a new puppy about a week ago and finding the time to draw this has been tough, but finally I decided to call it finished

This picture has probably had the most effort of any of my pics on DA and probably the one I'm most pleased with.

I'm seriously not good at drawing backgrounds but I really wanted to try give this one my all and I learned many things from this, hopefully its an improvement on my past art

An impressive picture. Has a cute and awe inspiring quality to it. Only thing i can nag about is the proportions, but that really doesn't detract from the image. This is amazing and keep up the good work.

Sorry about the proportions, you are right they are a bit off its something I struggle with when drawing Pokemon, I'm never totally sure how big each one should be...

Do you know whats funny, after I posted mine up I saw this and realized (from reading your comment place) that this was your first time giving so much effort XD hahaha were on the same boat hahaha, Also I'm not so good with backgrounds either XD Also, from seeing your old art you definitely improved!!!!!
I also learned something from your amazing drawing, I learned more about coloring lol.

Im really honoured that you learned something from the colours in my picture, its kind of funny because I look at other peoples art and tutorials all the time to pick things up so its awesome if you managed to take something from one of my pictures
You did a drawing for the Pokemon contest too didn't you?
I was looking at the folder for the dex entries and your picture really stood out and grabbed my attention
I'm drawing Togepi, I'm really stuck for ideas on the pose for it, its really limited what you can do with Togepi..
Your Autumn picture is great! So much detail!

Yeah its hard with togepi, but i try to think about the picture before the pose, like right now I'm thinking of bowling, right, so maybe use togepi, voltorb, etc. as bowling balls lmao XD hahaha, sorry, just a thought lol

Yeah just studying/looking at other peoples art is a great way to pick things up & learn
I finally finished the Togepi picture
Its funny because I was thinking I was maybe unlucky getting Togepi but I'm so glad I didn't get given Voltorb! That wouldn't have been very interesting to draw...

3 things that really caught my attention:
1. Are the Pokemon after berries on his antlers? or are those leaves they are playing with?
2. Bidoof is about to chomp Sawsbuck's leg. Ouch!
3. Virizion in the background. I love how you put that there.

I think the Pokemon are just playing around in the leaves
I never thought of putting berries there but thats actually a really good idea! I wich I'd thought of it.. -_-
The idea was that they are treating Sawsbuck like a real tree, the birds pirched in the branches and the bugs climbing him/her etc

I only ever had one shiny Pokemon, it was a Pidgy, and not long after my game bugged out and I lost the save file... D:

In White I have 60 shiny PokΓ©mon. All through trade. And in Soul Silver, I have about 7, 2 I caught in the wild.

But yeah. I know how it feels to lose a save file. Especially when I beat the game 7 times and lost the game 7 times! (This was Leaf Green) I was pissed.

I think I caught my shiny Pidgy on Leaf Green, traded it to Ruby and then the save file went dodgy and Pidgy was lost... :/

I used the program Sai for this particular picture and a Wacom Intuos 3 tablet (I think thats what it is).
