I've been stalling on moving my new breeds ref from my other account to this one. Now, I did so I hope you all enjoy c:

Here are some things about the breed that I didn't include.

● It's heritage includes the following; Beauceron, American Stadffordshire Terrier, Azores Cattle Dog, Mastiff, Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog, Bull Terrier and lastly the Greyhound.

● The breed originated in South Africa where it was bred to keep leopards and other big cats away from cattle and other live stock.

● It is named the African Leopard Dog because of it's common merle patten and it's love of hunting Leopards.

● The colors that are listed can come with, Irish White, Piebald White, Extreme Piebald White and White flashings.

● The ALD is born with double dew claws in the front and back. If you are wishing to show one of these dogs you are going to have to clip them all. If you don't the judges mark you down.

● Crop the ears. If you don't the judges mark you down.

● When not cropped the ears are small and rose pricked.

● Ticking in the ALD is highly prized and desired but is very hard to breed.

● This breed is prone to eye problems but other than that it is a overall healthy breed.

● The sloping back is of unknown source.

● If you can't read the height the standard if 26"

● The standard weight is 80-100 pounds.
