Speed painting video of this piece available here: [link]So I'm going to Hawaii for some family stuff and while I'm there I was asked to give a few presentations about what its like to work on comics. I haven't done any professional work but because of that, I thought I would throw together a piece of my own to show my technique. This was the result. Its a Supergirl drawing that kind of ties together her new costume, old costume, and elements of Superman's new 52 costume all together. I don't know what issue 24 is going to be about but I thought it would be fun to have Clark introduce Kara to the family farm and take a secret identity. Any way that was the premise of this cover. Hopefully it will be enough to educate some folks on the basics of comic production.
On another note, this is the first piece that I've done that I recorded myself doing. I've never done that before. Normally I don't count the hours I spend on a piece but because I recorded every step, I ended up having 18 hours worth of footage. I compressed it down into a speed video for you all to see my process stroke by stroke. Its a perfect speed painting video about 7 minutes long. I would really appreciate comments on the video as well as this piece. Thank you all so much and I hope you enjoy the speed painting video.

I just love what you did with her face, it was very well done and calming.
her hair is about what it was when she was a Kent, the suit is a mix of the new 52 and the old skirt which is not a bad combo. Stomach and leg muscles look good as well. Her neck is not too long but nor is it too short and I only say that because that is a common thing for artist to screw up. Her cap is attached to her uniform which makes more since than what they are currently doing with it.
All in all Great job.

Looks wonderful, tend to notice there's a bit of lustre (or shine) on her outfit which looks really good.
I could definitely see this as a spin-off cover for a comic book, for the quality of the drawing and the scenery alone.
