It may be one of the greatest monster movies ever made. Think about it. This is the first time that Rodan, Mothra and King Ghidorah are getting an American treatment and they look amazing.

Hedorah was the scariest kaiju Godzilla fought before Biollante in my opinion. I guess he was too difficult to insert into the Legendary Monsterverse. The Smog Monster also had the best costume, it oozed, man. Brrr.

Most of it is accurate, but you forgot that 1. Rodan and probably Mothra's solo films are also included in this timeline 2. "Godzilla's revenge" is placed in the "real world" in which kaiju are just imagenary and only exist inside of a boy's head and 3. DAM isΒ explicitlyΒ stated to take place in the end of the 20th centry, the specific year is not stated since the american version mentions the year 1999 wheres the original japanese version simply recalls it to be in the end of the 20th centry (japanese wikipedia even showed a newspaper seen in that film that says that the year is 1994). so it simply happened about 30+ years after Terror of MG.Β

I saw Kong yesterday and it was great. I really hope we get more Kong films with these characters.
Also the after credit scene is amazingly well done.
