Interesting. I do think that a study of Bowser and his son's personalities would be a curious read. Having read it, I think I can safely say that this philosophy can definitely apply in some way to Junior. After all, the boy does have an intense desire to please his father and considering that Bowser truly believes that an ideal world (for himself at least) should be exactly like his kingdom... On the other hand, Junior does usually behave nicer whenever the princess is involved in the spinoffs. Either way, its rather eerie to think about, namely about how Bowser may be raising his son.
Overall this piece definitely makes you think and is well worth the favorite.

and ironially Bowser is simply trying to create a great kingdom for Jr to inherit
so whilst Jr is trying to please his father Bowser simply wants Jr to be happy

Hard to say what hasn't been said already. All I know now is I'd -really- like to read an analysis of Bowser, his kingdom, and maybe its economical/prosperity compared to Peach's. I wonder if Dark Land actually is the better kingdom to live in than the Mushroom Kingdom. Given one can stand lava and Thwomps.

Wow. This is deep. I will never be able to pummel that little guy again with the same vigor I always have.

So, Bowser Jr is basically Hitler, and Bowser himself is more like Heinrich Himmler.

It's an interesting theory, certainly. The philosophy of de Botton makes sense, sure - it can't be a nice place to grow up, even if Bowser does seem to be a decent father in some ways. But strangely, you do get to see that Bowser's troops actually follow him out of respect, not fear, and he's actually a pretty competent king (by contrast to Peach, who employs bodyguards which make Imperial Stormtroopers look adequate). While it's a risky call comparing anyone to Hitler, the philosophy at the core has some validity to it. It's a potential thesis topic.

Who knows? Your title sure has caught attention, I'll agree with that. It got me thinking, that's for certain. Who knows where Bowser's political alliances lie? He is pretty competent, to the point of nearly taking over the universe. There are many theories about him, but we do know he's one of the most popular villains around.
