aww basically its to do with composition! When you look at an image you can break it down into three parts, as a phtoographer you uncontiously do it! So the three parts in this image are, the peacock feathers at the bottom, your face in the middle, and the hair at the top! the peacock feathers and hair frames the face nicely and draws alot of attention to the eyes! thus making a really visually efeective image!
Using thirds is the best way to create an image, as it also helps with effective depth of feild!

...whoa...I can't believe I did all that unknowingly..I just thought it looked the best of the other photos I'd taken o__O

..really?..huh..I didn't know the make up was that good; I was trying to go for a kinda plain design 'cause the female peacocks aren't as flauntful (that's not a word ) as the males ^w^;; I used to really suck at it-- I used to poke myself in the eyes
