Second strip for today, and also meant to participate in a challenge, this time the one, which only asked for something funny involving Qunaris...I've set it on DA2, since it is when we see horned Qunari, but honestly, it can be also a DAO strip, since the hornless Qunari is no less than our beloved Sten. I know, I know... the lore says some Qunari are born without horns, and that is not related to gender or status. Moreover, the concept art shows beautiful horned Qunari females. But since we can't see female Qunaris in both of the games, I once came with the stupid theory that maybe Qunaris are like deers, so females are hornless. That's exactly the reasoning of this kid here.
And yes, the horned Qunari in the background is trying not to laugh. We'll keep the secret for him

I know all the theories and the lore Bioware has written about the Qunari, and I think they're really interesting. What pisses me off is that if they technically couldn't develop horned Qunari in the first game, they shouldn't have changed it in the second game, specially because Sten is not the only Qunari which appear in Origins. But well, they did the same with elves and even with the lore about half-elven children looking like humans. So I don't care much about that. I just wanted to make fun at it, because it is better to laugh at the flaws of your favourite videogames than to complain about them.
And yeah, I think the look of the Qunari in DA2 is awesome, but since we didn't have it in Origins, I prefer continuity to graphics.

I was thrilled when a friend told me that in DAII the Qunaris were horny. I was disapointed.

I was very disappointed too. Not that I like the new design, but I still don't understand why they changed it in the second game. It is as if they had changed the design of the asaris in Mass Effect 2!!!!

I know, but it is so absurd that they change it once the first game was released and a look was already set that I had to make fun of it.

Well, they kind of give them scales in ME3...

But that's a minor rendering change. Now imagine they gave them scales, horns and changed the craneum shape. Or, as they do with elves in DA2, they change completely the nose, the body shape, the ears and the eyes, making old characters like Zevran unrecognizable. Nah, I think it is not a good idea, you can't make so big changes in a game already released!

In the end, the only character who benefitted from the new models was Isabella.

Very funny. although I think bioware worded it wrong. Shouldn't it be that all Qunari are born without horns but not all of them grow horns? If some were born with horns that just seems painful.

I don't know for sure, though of course it would be better for Qunari mothers not to bear them with horns. Maybe they just have "proto-horns", like buttons or something? But born or not with them, as adults some of them just don't have horns...
