Panels 1 and 2 of page 16This is actually the second attempt at panel swapping for The Rabbit Hole. The first attempt was when I tried doing three of these back to back and learned that wasn't smart, so I wasn't happy with the quality. I might slap some color on the first attempt and upload but the thing is I can't even tell what panel I was trying to imitate for that one anymore.
Anyway! The Rabbit Hole is an interesting comic worth checking out. It was also fun to trade with because the style is so very different and distinct; I don't really think I did the panels justice though. That simplistic style works so well for what she's doing.

So interesting to see your take on what color the characters have! I think you did them plenty of justice, it looks really good. And a fun glimpse on what it would look like if I drew it with colors.

I gotta say, the writer of that comic is really good at story telling to get me (and other people) hooked on a story that revolves around a hole in the ground. No overly complex plot (at least so far), nothing over the top. Just the mystery of what is in this hole in the ground. The the curiosity of the mystery is what drives the horribly dark story about rabbits. That takes talent.
That, and the artist's 'cute' style doesn't clash with the dark themes of the comic... it actually adds to the dark/creepy factor. I love it.

Yeah she's a good example of what style over substance means, because I think that term ends up being an insult sometimes and it shouldn't. It's a simple story that relies on a simple look and simple, foreboding dialog and really excels and what it's trying to do. Very atmospheric.
