SEGA has officially licensed Hot Topic to begin selling Sonamy T-shirts advertising Romantic Love between Sonic and Amy Rose. The artwork and love slogans on the T-shirts were also officially done by SEGA. So to those Amy-haters who want to call Amy Rose an obsessive stalker or say that Sonic hates Amy and wants nothing to do with her or that Sonic wants a restraining order issued against Amy Rose or that Sonamy will never be canon, SEGA and Sonic Team officially confirmed Sonamy as canon.Here's the official website as proof:

Iβm sorry, but Iβm not trying to dispute you with anything. Iβm just trying to say that BOTH Sonally and Sonamy are official couples. However, I donβt consider Sonic and Amy an actual couple yet. Unless theyβve actually kissed and said they love each other, then theyβre not official(Yet). But I donβt deny the official hints and moments between them, like these t shirts(Which I actually think are cute, honestly) Although, Sonic and Sally were a REAL couple. Sure, it wasnβt part of the main canon storyline, but they actually kissed and declared their love for one another multiple times, they were a canon couple. While Sonic and Amy do have their moments and such, theyβre not canonically a real couple, not yet anyway. Who knows what Sonic Team has planned.π

Actually, Sally and Amy werenβt rivals. They were friends in the comics. There wasnβt a love triangle between them and Sonic. Thatβs how they were portrayed by the fandom.
Yes, weβll just have to wait and see.π I have a feeling that itβll become canon in IDW before the games, because SEGA said that there wouldnβt be any romance between characters in the games. But, the comics and tv series are a different story. So, yeah, weβll just wait and see.
