Stackable rings set
The engagement ring is 14KT white gold with a yellow sapphire cabochon and 4 diamonds *salvaged from a 1940/50s ring*
The band is 14Kt white gold as well, very simple and thin. Just to underline the first one.
I was looking for an "elvish" but ancient artefact look. To say I love these ones is an understatement.

Actually it is a mix of both as you have to feel pretty confident with lost wax casting first.. Then solder on parts you know could be fragilized by the casting.. So, I can't answer you in detail but the basic answer, like always, is a bit of all. Filing, drilling, hammering are parts of the process too. I'm quite sure another jeweler could come up with something similar with different techniques though XD
