Now this weather is much more representative of what our 2017 summer looks like...

Anyway, Sanae is yet another new member of the prestigious club-of-characters-I-have-drawn-more-than-once (for a total of 4 members now), here's my very old (18/04/2015) and really bad drawing of her: sta.sh/02a3axkxiuvp
...and this makes her the first touhou character to be in there (even though she's not really near the top of my favourites lol, high but not top)

This drawing started kind of like a doodle, since I had no idea what I would draw. At first, I thought that I would go with Gray Thaumaturgy / Forgotten Ritual as the theme, but eventually, it morphed into her last spellcard (kind of). Even though it was started almost 2 months ago and went through many edits, I'm still not quite satisfied, but I figured at this point it's just best to let it go. I didn't intend to spend so much time on this anyway.

Besides, I'm getting dissatisfied with my art in general, and, within the current format, I feel like I'm running out of tangible goals and challenges which could truly bring me a feeling of achievement.
In other words, I got comfortable enough with technical skills that I no longer feel like I'm going through nine circles of hell on every drawing. I guess I should be happy about that but it's kinda meh. Self-torture is fun. But really, this is a sign that I'm not pushing my limits enough, so I need to step up my game - thus, starting now, I'm going to delve into:
1) Background-focused art and more detailed backgrounds in general
2) Multiple characters / character interaction
They're both very time-consuming though, RIP my speed, I'm going to be even slower now. I'll still try to keep posting stuff at least once per month (which should help me with the goal of becoming faster also), but I cannot guarantee that... Well, at least the first drawing in my gallery is no longer going to be one of a kind lol.
There's also a secret point 3) Porn, but that one I'm keeping completely private (at least for now). It's a goldmine of anatomy challenges, of course I can't just ignore it.
