Very, very good scene. Sort of reminds me of the opening for Kenshin. I really like all the movement that you're showing here, really adds to the scene. Only question I have is why it's so grainy looking.

well its kinda a long story, lost the finished image file, so i had to remake this one from a backup.

you can be my mentor for 3D studio Max... I will be starting to learn it in the fall. 
Beautiful merger of photoshop and 3 D rendering, the cloudes are alittle rougher on the edges, but none of its roughness bothers me, a good picture of a tense moment... and it has a great zooming in affect and movement. X3

What I like about this the most is the positioning of the focal characters..it's got a very interesting cinematic perspective.
What program did you use aside from Adobe? 3D Studio Max?

I can't wait to learn 3D Studio....they'll be teaching that to us when I start ITT's Multimedia program in the winter...
Good to know it's not just for rendering architecture....
Seriously though, this is damned good. The only historically minded flaw I found was the warriors Axe. While the Japanese did use long-handled axe's....that one looks quite European in design.
Either way, I really like how this breeds a feeling of anticipation...it's got a wonderful cinematic quality.
