Hayao Miyazaki is one of my heroes. I should watch one of his films again and study some shots
It's pretty cool that Kim Jung Gi can do all the prelim work and planing for his drawings in his head and just draw picture with out them.

If you're asking specifically about improving composition, I'd recommend going through "Framed Ink" by Marcos Mateu and Jeffrey Katzenbergand and doing some practices based on the information there.
