Deviantart seems a bit quiet today, so I decided to post something. I did this last year as an MSN buddy icon, a little play on Battlestar and coffee culture. Not that funny in retrospect, but I think it looks pretty good.And for those of you who don't get it, the thing replacing the Starbucks mermaid is the fleet symbol for the Galactica. I think. It could be battlestars in general. Another excuse to watch Pegasus parts 1 and 2 again!

To make the connection a little more direct (though admittedly somewhat more obscure to those who did not watch BSG), you could have used the marriage tattoo she had from season 3 on.
But as a BSG fan and coming from the Seattle area, LOVE it.

I think there's a short version for it, yeah, I just don't know it off the top of my head. They taught us a vaguely-wrong Egyptian alphabet in sixth grade, and I was the only one in the class to bother memorizing most of it. This I know because I asked people a few years ago, and they thought I was crazy for remembering it.

There's a character named Starbuck on this sci-fi TV show called Battlestar Galactica. Starbuck is awesome. So I decided to put the Battlestar and Starbucks symbols together. Not rocket science, but oh well.
