Description A girl in a bunny suit, and her pet, a rubber duckie.
The bunny can't swim but has many places to go.
The duckling can swim but doesn't know of any places to go.
One swims, the other navigates.
Together they embark on their great adventure...

This is a collab between me and ~Nicoh .

I love mixed-medium.
I've always wanted to try something new and original.
So far I've never seen anyone mix blatantly different styles as this.
I just like this idea. I think the mixed-medium suits the concept.
This style is kind of love-or-hate, though.
Some people may feel it doesn't blend too well.
But hey. I think it's cool :]
Nico did all the 3D in here, though. So props to him.

Tools:
Photoshop CS [painted clouds, post-editing]
Illustrator CS [duckling, bunny]
Maya 7 [water, reflections, sky, depth-of-field]
Cintiq 17SX

Thank-yous:
~Nicoh , for doing pretty much everything aside from the clouds and the vector;
`blackzer0 , ~sonofsanta , *Paulkun , `musicinmyhead and ~eclipsic for looking at WIPs; and
`niteangel , =geckokid and ~Nicoh for consultation/advice.

Cheerio! And thanks for looking.

As you stated, I love how the two-dimensional characters contrast with the realistic water and clouds. I think you and Nicoh pulled this off faultlessly.

It's been a while since I've touched vectors. I'm actually curious as to how I'd take it again.

Insk In reply to snowunmasked [2008-11-20 10:05:44 +0000 UTC]

I am trying to be good as a vector artist too, but details like the ocean and the sky like you did in a 3D way is beyond my little powers for now. In the future I will learn how to do it.
I think is wonderful you answer your fans messages.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

snowunmasked In reply to Insk [2008-11-20 16:42:40 +0000 UTC]

Well I didn't work on the 3D This was a collab, as mentioned in the description.

I did however paint the sky digitally, and vectored the characters.

And it's only courteous. You take the time to view my work, it's only at least polite to reply and besides I'm grateful you enjoy my work.

I was thinking the other day, what if vincent van gough was a Deviant.. he'd never had made as much cash as he did.. because he wouldn't have sold his stuff himself... and he'd have technical trouble because he's from so Far back

Actually I believe he was not very successful in real life to begin with anyway >_> If he were on dA he'd be an instant hit just because he's so emo.

You know, cutting of ears... etc.

I like going to the Louvre.

The very first time I saw the Mona Lisa in there though, I was so surprised at how small it was.

That was my initial reaction.
