WAAAAAGH!So there was that question I posted in Da WAAAGH! forum long ago "how do I beat ironclads"
The answer was simple.
Tankhamma.
What is an ork tankhamma? well, quoting from the codex:
"A Tankhamma is a rokkit-on-a-stick that is swung directly into the target's vulnerable bitz"
My kinda random fun weapon.
But I love the idea of the tankhamma, so fun, so orky....
So Ellie just had to waste a few hours drawing one
I've got one tankhamma ork model at the moment, makin a second.

But then it can only boom and blow your arm off once, nowhere near hilariously lack of safety enough. Besides, I thought they already made super tankbusta bombs by wiring a load of stick grenades together.

A very typical strength 10 Ork solution. How do you deal with the dread's higher initiative (4 compared to 2, I think)? As a guardsman, I go for meltaguns.

well, how to deal with initiative 4? you just need enough bodies to take the hits.
at very best it will kill 4 guys in close combat (considering it charges). so if you have bout 10 or more guys and with the 3 tankhammers... you can strike back.
Yeah, not very efficient way to deal with it. but well, orks don't have all your fancy melta gears. so you'd have to get more creative.

My favourite tank killing unit, or at least, the most cost-effective, is a 70pt veteran squad (with a handy BS of 4) with three ten point melta-guns and a 30pt demolition kit that gives everyone in the squad (10 men) meltabombs. Drop them out the back of an outflanking Vendetta gunship (also 130pts - and looks great on the table as well) that has three twin-linked lascannons (and is also a fast vehicle) and you can take out almost any vehicle you want, including super-heavies. Fancy melta gear indeed.

Well, good for all you guardsmen get life easy with so much AT shooty stuff. Orks have to tuff it out in close combat, and it's not easy.
My favourite is simple. Broadside battlesuit. 80 pts of straight-up, no-nonsense long range str 10 AP 1.
Living metal? No extra D6 penatration? no problem. It's just flat out strength 10 Ap 1.
But it's still more fun to blow up tanks playing orks, cause it's actually hard to do so

Yes, tanks are quite "easy," as you put it. What is not easy for guardsmen is having dozens of b****y assault marines from the b****y Blood Angels chapter being shoved up your nose from turn two onwards. They scatter only 1 D6, and then Dane and co turn up, who don't deep strike at all - although I did kill them all once with a S10 AP2 large blast when they failed to melta my 'Russ. How I laughed.
