Well, this was quite an eventful update.
Here, we're introduced to three new characters, and obtain two more Pokemon for the team. First is the cloaked man. Gee, I wonder who he could possibly be?
Next is Navi, the somewhat-helpful Piplup. In this Nuzlocke, Pokemon don't speak unless they have psychic powers, have god status like Darkrai, or they've been given the ability to speak by a higher power. Navi will be a recurring character here in place of Lucas, since I couldn't be bothered to come up with a Zelda themed character for him.
Finally... Oh boy.
I was trying to think of a recurring character in the Zelda universe to replace Looker, who you often meet in Platinum version. Tingle was the only thing that came to mind. Mind you, I was NEVER a fan of Tingle, for several reasons. Of course, it wouldn't be the same Zelda formula without some sort of quirky character, and Tingle is the quirkiest of them all. Get used to seeing him a lot in this run... because I won't. -_-
Now for the catches. First up is Rusl, the Starly. As I just said in the comic, I caught him at Lake Verity. Kafei was second, which I caught at the second route just past Sandgem Town, which is now a part of Kokiri Woods, so it won't be mentioned here.
This update seemed to go a lot faster now since my first semester of college is just about over. Expect to see more updates soon.
*What's That Reference?*
-Again, Verity Spring is actually the light spirit's spring in Faron Woods from "Twilight Princess".
-Rusl is the name of one of the villagers in Ordon Village from "Twilight Princess". Rusl is the best swordsman in the village, and also has a fondness for birds, particularly Cuccos (that's Hylian for chickens, by the way).
-Navi is the name of the fairy companion you get in "Ocarina of Time". She's particularly famous for being one of the most annoying characters in the game, for her obvious and unnecessary hints and tips, as well as her repetitive catchphrases. Still, she was at least trying to be helpful, so it's impossible for me to really hate her.
-The dragon statues that suspiciously look like a certain legendary Pokémon are actually based on the save statues you find in "Skyward Sword". Not only do they save your game, but they also serve as landing beacons in the world below, so you can get to that spot instantly while flying. This function serves a purpose in this run for later, as you can expect.
-Kafei is the name of a special NPC from "Majora's Mask". Kafei's backstory contains spoilers for the longest quest in that game, so I won't say anything... even though you can probably find it by accident all over the internet.
-Ordon Village is the starting village in "Twilight Princess", which is located due south of Hyrule. The town is known for its goats, pumpkins, and mischievous monkeys.
-Tingle comes from numerous Zelda titles, but his first appearance was in "Majora's Mask". He rides around on a balloon, selling maps. He'll sell you a map of the current location you're in for a cheap price, but any other map for future locations are ridiculously expensive. He's also approximately 35 years old and has a strange obsession with fairies... I don't even know why.
