Now... wouldnt that "block" hill, with the first 3 rings would be on the actual track as a big block?, instead of a flat on the side? Cause i always pictured it like that.. with a tiny little space to walk beside it.

Well... the fact that the player can move bellow AND on top of this hill in 2D gives the artist the freedom of whether to place it on track or not.
And of course, moving it to the side would give more space for a landscape instead.

I suppose, i was also drinking a big bottle of beer at the time. I look at it now, and you know, it does look fine, but there's still that odd side of the track feeling. Then again, this is seeing it in a total new perspective, and seeing it on 2d always feels like, there could be a good gap, but never imagine the track being that wide..
EEEH either way. Im not saying this blows or anything. Still looks good

Turning a 2D concept into a 3D (view) would be done differently as artists differ; some see that shape pulled in, while others, pushed out, in 2D...

A great looking drawing, but just one problem--the palm trees and sunflowers shouldn't look flat, considering you gave the rest of the piece a 3-D look. Rather, they should have been fleshed out objects to the left of the path Sonic goes down, but still visibly growing from the main surface; not just as objects seeming to protrude fromt the edge. Other than that, beautiful.
