I don't know why but I found the fatherly attachment she had to gargamel adorable.

"It was your formula that made me what I am, Pappy Gargamel."
"But how can that be, you little blue dickens? I didn't make you, those smurfs did."
"Maybe so, but it was indeed your formula that did it... wanna go for a walk?"
"Ugh, I hope none of my fellow wizards see me."

I agree, I wish the show writers would had made Papa become aware of this, because he only made things worse for Gargy, instead he and his Smurfs could have helped.
Please, allow me to rant about Brainy. You are so right, Brainy is mistreated and Papa does nothing about it!
Even in the episodes Brainy does something right, he has to be kicked out of the Village for whatever reason. Have you ever seen "Bookworm Smurf" episode? In this episode we find out that Sassete Smurfling doesn't know how to read, so Brainy teaches her to read. As you imagine, he does using Brainy's Quotations books. The lessons were successful, Sassete learnt to read but she was so bored, she wishes to a Papa's magic tome not to see another book again. As a result, all the books in the world disappeared, causing a complete chaos. In short, when Sassete, crying, tells Papa it was her fault, all because she was so tired of reading Brainy's books. Papa calms Sassete down and then he gets angry and blames Brainy: "Brainy, this is partly your fault! Reading supposed to be fun, not work!"
What was that?! I mean, what the writers wanted to show little kids with that Papa's line? And also, why Brainy character has to carry almost all negative traits? There were positive things on his actions: he successfully taught a Smurfling to read, isn't that good? Why didn't Papa teach her himself before, he was aware of the situation, but oh no, bad Brainy!
Sometimes I don't like Papa Smurf character, and the writers made it sure Brainy is good for nothing and also a coward so he would never can be rebellious against Papa, it would be believable if this wasn't forced! Like in the episode I described to you, why blame Brainy?!
Oh, and what about "The Sky Is Smurfing" episode?! Papa seems to be ill and his coughing waked up the entire Villageand but the one who actually went to see him and help was Brainy, but when Scaredy Smurf mistakes a volcano eruption with his fears of the sky falling Brainy tells him that is impossible. At the ending they all had to rebuild the Village because of the eruption but Scaredy scolds Brainy about that the sky was actually failing... Papa listens and he just smiles mockingly at Brainy. Later Brainy has to work for Scaredy and Hefty and us watchers suppose to laugh when the spectacled Smurf can't carry all the food for them and falls and the food all over him. That is just another example of how unfair the Smurf were with Brainy!

Thank you very much! I'm so happy I can share this with you!
Hey, you are right! Papa seems not very understanding of Vanity, Painter and Jokey. I can understand he favouring Handy since how hard-working he is, but Smurfette? I liked her when she supposed to be "evil", sometimes her character could be just annoying.
I think the worst episode with Brainy is "Clumsy's Luck", that one makes no sense, is like if the writers forgot all about the fact that Clumsy and Brainy are friends, I know Brainy is mean to Clumsy but this episode is completely over the top
He he he! Imagine the look on Papa's face if Brainy was rebellious!
Maybe Brainy was Papa's first smurfling, like I believe our friend wrote once, or like in "Hefty's Heart" episode, Gargy said as he was breaking Brainy's glasses: "I thought smurf were perfect!", that was sad, since Brainy is myopic.
Yes, I have that comic, after all the troubles he had, the ending was so sweet! You should read "The Smurfs and the Book that says it All" comic, very good one, I can spoil the ending for you if you want
Aaaww! Please, don't worry my dear!

Oh, it´s really nice to talk a little deeper about smurfs than normally!^^
In some episodes even Papa Smurf is fallen love with Smurfette! Eww! So I guess he favours her because of she´s a woman and because of her looks-_- I find all the female smurfs annoying or too forced and they feel too stereotypic, though I like Sassette and Gargamel focused episodes.<3 Evil Smurfette was wonderful! Though I gotta say I find the spring time episodes very amusing where all the smurfs are in love with Smurfette and Smurfette is so in trouble!XD
I have to re-watch that episode, I don´t remember what it was about, huh, I think it´s so unfair to make Brainy being only the mean smurf!:S (though Hefty can be mean too)
Hhaha, I wish I could see that expression!
Hmm, that could be true! And there´s one episode where Brainy saves all the smurfs as a smurfling, it was called "Papa´s family album" if I´m right.
Oh,don´t tell how it ends, maybe I some day manage to find it!xD I noticed that they have started to re-publish smurf comics,in November there will publish one that is focused on Gargamel!
