Description Some of you know I'm apart of a tattoo studio in Tucson. I came on board as the creative director because we wanted to do publications. the shop is owned by my brother and art mentor Philip J Felix. He is a bad ass. His brother is Paul Felix, the bad ass feature animation development artist who was the creative director on Bolt. Just to give you reference as to how bad ass bad ass be. So a little over a year ago I seriously started to study tattoos and become an apprentice. here's some of the sketches I do as i wait to poke skin.

Nice. I design tattoo stuff for people too, so it's always a bit annoying when someone wants to put something I designed for fun or for someone else on them. I'd rather do it all over again for that person, then to let what is supposed to be a one of a kind thing be put on someone else's shoulder or arm or back. >.<

This is fantastic. I love that koi, it balances out that bad ass skull very nicely. A mixture of somewhat of old school/new school and eastern style.

its cool you see the remix. I like to incorporate all things. Tattoo artists are very particular about breaking tradition even if they say there's no rules. they hold on to them more than most artists I know. since I don't belong to any ONE tribe, I like to mix it up.

I appreciate your review!

Yea, I've noticed that. My most popular stuff is my dragons, which I tend to mix the traditional japanese flair but also put in the thickness and appeal of some of the more western stuff. I actually had someone from a nearby tattoo shop say that some of my stuff is "what's wrong with the tattoo world, it's moving too far from what 'looks good'." Strange, since I've heard nothing but good things to and from that point.

And I always love remixes of old school with new school. The best of both worlds.

even progressive people have paradigms that keep them in one place too long.
