Important things not included in the ref:

- Though he can be depicted at different ages depending on the story being told, generally Garth is thought of as being between 28 and 30 years old. This detail can be fudged because he is a huge man child and though he may be 30 on the outside, mentally he is like 14.

- Fun-loving and extroverted, he is very rarely sitting still, instead he is all over the place, always looking for a new adventure to go on and always dragging his brother Anthony (more commonly known as Yogurt) into his shenanigans. Through most of his life, he's pretty gentle about this but after an incident he has at an abandoned house/barn, he becomes more aggressive and more physical, literally dragging his brother places and blowing up when the younger fossa doesn't want to go.

- Yeah at some point in his story, he is trying to build up a fan following on Youtube, so he tries his hand at ghost hunting. But it backfires on him when he and his team of friends find an old barn with demonic symbols and stuff all over. And Garth, being braver than he is intelligent, kind of goes right up to it and, though he doesn't know at first, he is possessed by a demon at this point. It slowly and subtly changes his demeanor to make him more aggressive (not mean necessarily, just passionate and intense about everything he does) and unpredictable with poor self-control and he becomes very self-centered which is not like him at all. Anyone who knows the real Garth knows that he will bend over backward for his friends and family, especially his precious baby brother. But this demon has him attacking his brother and actually injuring him a lot and often and it creates a lot of dissonance for Garth who wants this to stop but cannot seem to regain control of his body, the demon is just too strong. Eventually, the demon is exercised and he comes out the other end a better person- he appreciates his brother a lot more and is a little more subdued, a little less chaotic, and more considerate of others.

- Needless to say, he absolutely believes in ghosts after his first ghost hunting expedition and very quickly stops doing it, now honestly afraid of the paranormal. He can be a little gullible in this way, if someone tells him something is haunted, or even if he just gets a vibe of the place and doesn't like it, he has no chill and will absolutely just bounce, often dragging his brother with him. Hashtag no more demons. It tends to be super noticeable because, before the demonic encounter, he was a 'try anything once' kind of dude, he wasn't afraid of anything. But he is now. Hashtag hell no we won't go.

- He loooooves photography and if you ask him about his profession, he usually frames himself as being a freelance photographer. He often does funerals and likes to take pictures in cemeteries like a total tool. But his incident with the demon gets him to change venues, so he focuses more on children's parties and family portraits and such. However, he does not make much money this way. He's often considered too young to have enough experience and he doesn't really have like a website set up or anything, still working on getting his name out there by posting photos on Instagram. Even though he makes barely any money, he loves to photograph and take video with his phone. He's that annoying relative that takes pictures the whole time that the family is together, makes you stop what you're doing to pose for him and what not.

- He's addicted to his smart phone, which takes VERY high quality pictures. But he also likes to watch movies on it as he commutes to and from his "day" job as a Social Media and Event Manager for a large dog food company Nongo.inc which has a large factory just outside of town. It takes about 45 minutes each way and he has to hop trains like twice but it pays the bills so he does it, watching movies or taking pictures as he goes.

- This you may have noticed: the boy loves plaid. And the color blue. Feel free to shit blue plaid all over him. When fully dressed, he wears a blue and white striped collar with these huge golden oval-shaped studs, and beneath that he wears a somewhat raggedy blue plaid bandana around his neck. It's old and loose so it hangs down quite a bit. But outside of those two things, feel free to make any other clothing or accessories blue and plaid. He often has a blue plaid bandana wrapped around his tail as well, though this one is optional to include.

- This is also why his hair is dyed blue. Blue is simply his favorite and he goes overboard with it.

- He has seven piercings: golden snake bites, a blue tongue stud, gold rings in each ear and two gold rings in his eyebrows. Oh and he has a Prince Albert ring in his penis. So eight piercings technically.

- He is athletic and energetic, so he loves activities with a lot of action and movement, opting for a jog or to climb a tree rather than sit in the living room and play video games. He cannot read books to save his life, they just do not keep his attention and he ends up getting frustrated or bored, or both. But he loves to skateboard and snowboard, and actively practices parkour. He's a very physical and active guy, affectionate but in a touchy-feely kind of way. He pats people on the back, gives hugs to anyone who won't immediately murder him, he loves to mess up his brother's hair and will physically tease him sometimes.

- His tail is SUPER long, as is true for most fossas.

- Also true for his entire species, though he stands on digitigrade legs when walking around on the ground, his feet are actually designed to be plantigrade (note how the pink of his pawpads spreads all of the way up to his ankle). But this is only really apparent when he is climbing. Like all fossas, he climbs very well, be it a tree or a building, it's very hard to contain him because he can find a way to climb literally anything. When he climbs though, he tends to use his whole foot and does not stand on his toes when he is not securely on the ground in some way.

- Despite being an Aries and not a Taurus, he has a bit of a bull motif, he has many shirts with bull designs on them and, as is shown here, his skateboard has a bull on it.

- Most of his shirts are tanktops or hoodies depending on the temperature, and they can have almost any words or designs on them. He has a dumb sense of humor and likes stupid t-shirts with text or sayings on them, so feel free to play around with it.

- He can absolutely grow facial hair. His head hair's natural color, as well as the color of his facial hair when he lets it grow out, is black, like his stripes.

- Massively creative, Garth can draw well and plays several instruments: piano and guitar mostly, he can do a little bit of saxophone and something with the trumpet, but he recently picked up the violin and though he is still bad at it at the moment, he really likes it. Also he can sing. He's not going to win any awards for his singing but it, combined with his hip hop/trance/dubstep kind of style, his songs are just interesting to listen to, good to dance to. It's this that helps him make a little extra money on youtube- he is known for doing "epic" covers of existing songs, making them more dramatic and faster paced. He's got a pretty decent fan following, especially after the demon incident, and makes enough money doing this to eventually quit his boring job at Nongo.

- At work, many of his co-workers have pets that they bring with them to the office. A dog lover, Garth is always vicariously living through these dogs, who also love him since he spoils them with pats and treats and everything. But he and Yogurt do not have a dog of their own and Garth hates this, he wants a dog so badly.

- He doesn't get one and is instead somehow roped into visiting Little Wolf Range, a slowly expanding ranch on the very far outskirts of Norbrook. There he experiences the birth of a Shivali cub and, so loving and doting as he is having taken care of Yogurt his whole life, he falls immediately in love with the little potato and watches him grow up over several years. He named him Big Head, because he has a big head, it's not that creative. Everyone just calls him Biggie and while he does not belong to Garth in any capacity, the two are absolute peas in a pod. Both of them love water and swimming.

- Shout out to STATIC-AD0PTALY who made the markings and color aspect of this design, though it was intended for a canine. Somehow, it became a fossa. Also he looks nothing like his brother Yogurt and I cannot explain it.

And I think that's all I have to say for him at the moment.

I did not mean to make this, I was trying to make some drawings that I could put together in a big graphic to show my commission prices, since I know a lot of people don't pay attention to journals and I just think making a graphic looks nicer and feels more professional, more serious than just text. But it's also more work so I keep getting distracted from it. I did each of these drawings separately with no intention of stringing them together, it just... happened. I just looked up one day and realized that I just needed to draw him from the back and I would have enough for a ref sheet totally by happenstance. So that was a nice accident. I really do adore this character so I'm not mad.

I tried to record my lining and coloring process, once I started to think of it as a ref sheet and not just a bunch of random doodles. But OBS kept messing with me and I did not care enough to fight with it. So no speedpaint of this one, but I do have several sketches of him that I intend to finish at some point so not all is lost.

In the meantime, enjoy this little nugget of mine.
