I originally was not going to post this because I really hate how I drew his full body on the left there. I think I was using too many references and was not trusting my own eye as much and it kind of messed up his back legs. But he is an awesome character with an awesome design courteous of nekonotaishou who just did a fabulous job making some handsome scruffy faced doggos. Anyway Duke here is a character for a roleplay forum I am about 97% done with to replace This Is War. It's way more relaxed and there are a lot of species to play as you level up by posting. I'm excited to open the place and to get to work building up the overarching site plot. But, until then, here's just a really quickly done ref sheet of my boy.

As a note to myself: Dukura is a legendary wild named demi-god, born to a mortal mother who fell in love with an angel. Obviously, her child was gorgeous and powerful and he used that power to take down the Gods in Heaven, including his own father, to sit on the throne as the God of War. Duke was given this name mostly because of his fiery red coat. Dukura means "wild fire" in dog language.

Another note to myself: Duke here is the muttliest mutt to ever mutt. I used Irsh Wolfhounds and Labradoodles to scruff up his face, Great Danes for his basic anatomy, his markings were inspired by a Belgian Malinios, there was some use of Borzoi for his ears and face, and then some kind of wire-haired terrier to just reinforce the scruff and explain some of his behaviors (he likes to dig for example).
