The first thing I notice when looking at this is how perfectly the character fits into the environment. The simple looking yet beautiful shading really makes everything flow very nicely. I do also like the grass, but in my personal opinion I would suggest adding more shading to the grass. Grass is a 3 demential object, and so in at least the foreground, it should be shaded a bit to show this. I do notice some shading however, which is good. The sky is one of the most gorgeous parts of the piece. It is very eye catching and well done. Unlike some artwork though, the sky not only is beautiful, but it does not take away from the character pictured. Over all a beautiful piece! There is a lot of emotion in this as well.
