I'm a die-hard Glitch fan, and as much as I enjoy watching their content for fun, I would be lying if I didn't say the fandom was toxic to say the least. Hell, even claiming that the fanbase is "toxic" is an understatement. Like if I'm being honest, some of these people don't even deserve to call themselves "fans".

To me, getting into a fanwar about which SMG4 era is better is as much fun as arguing about U.S. politics. Hence, that's why I made the SMG4 fan spectrum, simialr to the U.S. political spectrum between Liberal/Conservative parties. On this spectrum, the alt-classic side (far-left) are full of nostalgia freaks, and the alt-modern side (far-right) are full of obsessive simps. I can tell you this, neither extremist side is good. You guys are 100% entitled to your opinion on which videos and content you like better. That's not my complaint. My complaint is when people take their opinions too far to where they bully, spam and even hurt others for having the different opinion. And if I'm being blunt here, I worry with some of you fans that you're gonna start committing serious crimes like murder, vandalism and rape because of your extremist mentalities. Some of the worst events in American history (e.g. the January 6 Capitol riots) have been fueled from the same aggressive and immature fanatic mentality. And I don’t think I’m taking things to far by saying that extreme toxic mentality has the potential to lead to senseless violence.

Remember that time Meggy broke up that fight between Francis and Jeeves in the Anime Arc? Yeah, that's how I feel with the fanbase. And how ironic considering Meggy just so happens to be one of the main topics of flame wars in the fandom!

Bottom line, it's totally ok to have an opinion on SMG4. Telling people your opinion is "fact" and dismissing people for having a different opinion is not okie dokie. Your extremism and toxicity only fuels drama and escalates divisiveness within the community, and it also shows that your guys' sanity is severly slipping.

Note: that's me in the very middle of the spectrum. I like both eras about equally and for as much as I see the flaws in both eras of SMG4, no matter what I appreciate Glitch for being them.
