Soooo....if it wasn't apparent before, my sense of design in regards to giant mechs isn't at any level which...is...really sensible, but ya gotta start somewhere, AMIRITE????

I was re-watching some episodes of Giant Robo (The Night The Earth Stood Still series) pretty recently, and, needless to say, a lot of characteristics were derived from some of those designs.

...Quite Heavily.

DON'T JUDGE ME.

And the reason that the pilot is recklessly standing on that part of the robot is the sheer confidence he has in his fluency of the mech, he's able to climb and relocate himself onto different parts of the thing while it's in motion; similar in skill as to that of a freaking squirrel.

...that, and for the sake of juxtaposition. <---(ART TERM, AW YEAH).
