the only problem is that in order to get the ipad pictures onto my laptop are by sending them to my facebook (sends as a jpeg) however i know for sure i will be using it to take pictures of smaller drawings such as the mimikkyu, as comparing it to Β which is the same size, but scanned. as you can see the scanner can only take so much of it soΒ the image came out smaller~

hmm interesting problem. do you have google drive? I often send my images to my google drive via a google account and then open my desktop google drive and move them to the rightful spot from there.
Your scanner may be scanning in a default smaller resolution. I know that a lot of scanners have computer scanning options that go to ludicrous sizes. I accidentally once scanned a photo with 2000 pixels per square inch.

i do have a google drive, that will be a much better option than sending them to my fb XD i recently began scanning in png which has definitely resulted in a better image, but i haven't found anything about changing the resolution in the options~ do you have any suggestions about was res i should go for if i do find the options? my scanners size is a little bigger than A4
and omg 2000 XD it must have taken ages to scan!

scanning depends on the artwork, lots of color and line work, I would do 300 dpi (dots per inch) to get a typical high quality digital archive piece. This file size shouldn't be too large for your laptop.
2480 X 3508 pxΒ is A4 one to one but you can scale up the resolution using the dpi value.
If you are able to crop the image via scanner software don't forget to check the pixel resolution and dpi in case it changes in automatically.
haha yeah amazingly niether my pc nor scanner die from that but I do not want to look at photographed faces with that much resolution on a screen

turns out my scanner usually scans with 300 dpi so i scanned it with 600 dpi PLUS png and oh my it took long XD idk how you did it at 2000! But i can definitely see the difference! im actually gonna see how the 600 dpi fairs on DA and see if it loads ok~

The other part is that scanners often reveal what the computer sees and not what the eyes see. so a bit of image editing with contrast and saturation is needed. Like in the Homestruck DirkxJake drawing, the colors look a bit flat due to the scanner assaulting the image with a harsh light. the natural reflectivity and translucency totally gets lost (kind of like why people say that the renaissance paintings they see in photos look way better in person)

the light on my scanner is blinding but i dont really know how to edit images very well (im great with it on instagram though XD ) so i tend to leave them be and let the scanner do what it wants~
