It's hard for me to find girls in anime that I really like. For a short while I was going to give up all hope, but then I caught onto Lenalee, and I decided that she was awesome.
She's not a damsel in distress! She actually kicks butt, and I find her personality likable! My only real complaint was during the 'fight' with Suman. Yes, Lenalee, it was probably a good idea to ask for info to confront Suman. I understand that you were devastated to hear that there wasn't a way to save him. But that doesn't mean you should mope around by the phone! Did you forget that THERE WAS ANOTHER PERSON OUT THERE THAT REALLY NEEDED HELP??? Poor Allen's getting kicked around and she's still on the phone. It's not as bad in the manga, but the anime just dragged it out so I started losing respect for her.
Later episodes and later chapters have redeemed her in my eyes, though.D.Gray-Man © Hoshino Katsura

FINALLY SOMEONE WHO COMPLAINS A BIT ABOUT THE SAME!
She's one of my favourites too, and as much as I protect her(I'm writing a Lena-defence, almost 5,000 words long currently.....and I'm not even done with 1/10 of it.....), THAT moment DID bother me a bit, but it isn't like that's a reason to hate her....or dislike her for that matter, maybe she was just in shock, you know, like my mom was whenever my tempreture rised when I was 5-6, haha.

I think part of loving a character is acknowledging their flaws and accepting it anyway. All the characters I love annoy me in some ways, this just happens to be Lenalee's bit. I think in a way she's more realistic than the other characters for it though.

That's pretty part of loving anything, heh. Same. Though, it isn't annoy as much as it is feel awkward when they show their flaws(Cross' womanizing/running away; Allen's stupidity; Komui's overreactions...)...makes my stomach move my insides in a weird way I can't even explain...
Actually, based on what Hoshino said, Lenalee is practically the most realistic character in the series, because she's based on a real person, Komui is too, but...it's kinda rare to see someone with such sister complex, haha, so he isn't as believable.

Well, ya, I doubt I could watch DGM and consider it humorous without Komui and his complexes

Thank you for not bashing her. I think that she wanted to stay at the village though. That girl was hurt, and I don't think that Lenalee really knew if Allen was alive. She was probably afraid to go check on him ant help, because it might be to painful for her.

Of course I'm not going to bash her, she's one of my favorite characters! Though I still think she should've left to find him earlier. The more time went by, the more likelihood he could be hurt or killed.

"Loser crybaby"? Crybaby means someone who oftenly cries and whines without much or a noteworthy reason. She doesn't cry that much, I mean, I'm going through some episodes once more, and, actually, she doesn't cry almost at all through out 60 % of the anime, same for the manga, and, she had good reasons, her friends were dying, she, as Cross said, was letting her hidden emotions out, and trust me, there are plenty to think of, she put up with the constant thought that every breath that her friends took could be their very last.
And Allen and Miranda cry equally, if not even more, don't even try to deny it.

Ah, that one! (There are so many Sakuras out there, it's getting hard to keep track of them!) It's been a while since I read/watched any of those series, but I don't remember getting attached to those characters. Maybe I'll have to go over them again.

Lenalee's such a great character, I like her too, (and the part when she and Allen fought the Level 4 was spectacular), but did you find it kind of annoying how all she did after she couldn't use her Dark Boots was mope around and whine?

Well, she would have became a Fallen One if she tried to do anything with her boots, plus, she tried to escape from the glass box Rhode/Road put her in, and she offered a great deal of moral support, so, even then she wasn't useless

YEEEEESSSSSSS. But she really did have an excuse there. If I recall, she was having trouble walking at that point and was getting really stressed with all the fighting she couldn't help with. If I were in her place, there would be much more moping and whining.
