I've been having some thinking about the life of a circle mage, and the harrowing. The harrowing was such a close thing for my inquisitor Yvad Trevelyan, and thought that he'd have been scared shitless. He was sure that he wouldn't make it.Uhh.. I shouldn't be drawing when I am too tired.. I tend to draw sad stuff..
Perhaps I will write out the whole Harrowing thing into a comic one day. I really should learn how to do it properly.

must have been difficult..well at least is was a bit easier for Lavellan..he had other troubles but there where noone watching his every step...

Yeah, being a circle mage really sucked big time for my poor kid. He narrowly passes his Harrowing, and it's only because he had help.
I understand that if there are too many mages born to a Dalish clan, they just kill them? Not really hot with the lore here... because a clan can't support too many mages right? better look it up.

Yeah I thought about that myself. I couldn't imagine having to face something that could end up in you being made tranquil. That's why I was os very much against Circles in DA:I - I'm not sure I would even attempt the Harrowing, I might consider suicide just to be sure. Because once you're tranquil suicide isn't even an option anymore...
The Tranquil who took over the creature studies in Skyhold broke my heart. When she tells you about the things she used to like but can't understand anymore. How dare anyone do something like that to a human being?!

I am not sure if they allowed you to take suicide.. maybe.. all I know is that you get called for the harrowing, and given a choice of the rite of tranquility... or some mages they see unfit, they don't even give a choice at all, and drag them to the rite of tranquility.. if they refuse, a templar would kill them.. (i guess it is like suicide then.. )
Yeah, the tranquil in Skyhold.. and the friend of Anders in DA2 who they go to rescue.. gosh, that was hard, coz he comes around momentarily and begs Hawke and Anders to kill him.

True. Ugh, it's absolutely awful. One of my highlights of Inquisition was Cassandra finding out that the process could be reversed. I hope they figure that out soon because it's such unnecessary cruelty. Then again imagine 'waking up' after spending decades as a tranquil. No idea what that would do to you :/

oh hugs him. Yes, I could imagine how frighting it would be since it can go so horrible wrong. Being made tranquil would be the most horrible thing that could happen to the living.
I was also nervous when my character from Origins had to drink from the Grey Wardens cup, but more so when other characters that I grew to like did it. So with the the harrowing I guess it helps to have a strong will and not be tempted by the Demons. But drinking tainted blood. Blaaaa.

Oh yeah.. i remember the Grey Warden ritual and thinking.. ooohh shit, darkspawn blood.. would be pretty scary too, since the survivial rate isn't too high, i understand it. but then many of them didn't have a choice either.. they'd be dead anyway if they didn't take the ritual..
Yvad does make it. it was a very close thing. I have a story in my head, and wishing that I can be a better writer... I could make it into a comic, but then it takes a long time.. hahaha

yeah unless you were to release a page just every now and again, but then I know you work on alot of other projects too. but that would be so cool to see heee hee.
