I'm sorry I hate to differ with you on your comment about sexual abuse. as myself was sexually abused by my father when young & then physically abused by him as a teen. I didn't see sex as a way of getting attention or affection. if anything I wanted, was for nobody to see me as a sexual human being at all & still do because of it. we are destructive though taking out feelings & emotions on ones self. I relate to that part of it. I sabatoge my own self so I'm not looked at or portrayed sexually. if this were me or any other abused person I know you would find us hiding in the back of a closet hoping & praying not to be found. but this how it made me feel & I cannot answer for all those who were abused. she portrays the look of fear on her face well in the photo. I'm sorry about my opinion I just felt it needed to be expressed.

I completely understand your point. However, I wanted to show this "side" of the story. When someone is very promiscuous, many people automatically assume it's for a vain kind of attention, when it can really be a cry for help. Though what you said is often true of abuse survivors, there are also many people who take the idea of sex as a way of being loved from their experience of abuse. None of the photos in this series are meant to speak for everybody who has gone through addiction, or a self-abusive coping mechanism.... They are simply expressing what many people DO experience.

yes you are so right on that point. I guess I sorta dressed the promiscuous part myself as a teen, but mostly got told I was a tease. I was just so scared of being touched but wanted to be loved. so I guess we all deal with those demons in different ways. you're photos are very expressive in that aspect & I appreciate the fact that you do true to life photos. I'm glad I found your gallery
