while taking this photo I remembered a comment here at dA that I've received saying the I loved vertical lines.
It's true, but I also love diagonals and horizontal lines. I feel that in this photo the diagonals pointing to the center and then the beam of light (vertical) calm down the agressiveness.
the use of emotional lighting is one of my quests in architecture photography.

you're welcome, it's nice to have an explanation of the photo. I do agree with you, shooting at a building is not that simple, it's up to the photographer to build up the foto (inputing the feelings the structure can give, using the shapes of it to create an abstracted 'world' like an architect would do aswell) and you did well with that one. To my mind, Light is the most important thing in photography. lol most difficult to me is translating what my eyes see to the gear I'm use (different cameras that react differently, films loaded in it or will it be as neat as it is actually). I guess I should take again some more time just shooting (I stopped for months now)

it requires pratice...
even with a cellphone you can have great photos. take your camera to the street and just take photos to something you feel that touches you.
