I had no time to hate because the grave would hinder me, and life was not so rich I could finish enmity - Surrender In Dance: LyrielI wonder why I always end up drawing really empty background with really lavish skies? Like... Something needs to go there Ahhh!
But I got this idea from a random thought during one of my history class and the idea was furthered upon finding out about the band Lyriel. They just create magical music and their songs are just so beautiful I enjoy singing along with them.
There is a slight story behind this piece. Although I'll lack the specifics. Basically that character in my mind was a girl who had an affinity for spirits. My awesome spirit magic deck kind of inspired the story behind this and eventually it became to much for her to have these spirits attracted to her being, so she just allowed them to strike her and destroy her being.
I am kind of tempted to somehow incorporate that to my comic ver 2. but I am still kind of wondering how I will

I like it. The colors are very pretty and I like how dynamic it looks! Also, the composition is interesting.

The skies aren't that bothersome, if anything, the simplicity of the background strengthens the idea and theme of this piece.
This work has both an interesting composition and colour palette. The use of purple makes it look dreamy and adds a magical undertone to it, enhancing your idea of it again. The anatomy and representation of material are both great, to a point where the folds in the dress are even done masterfully.
What bothers me is that some parts aren't as detailed as the rest is. The sky is simple, yet detailed, but then the flares flying through the air seem pale in comparison. Adding some detail to the hair and the skin, as well as a few finishing touches everywhere could improve the piece.

This is amazing, the colours are all so vivid yet subtle at the same time, your art style is superb! So much detail in the clothing, something a lot of people avoid doing but you've done amazingly! Awesome jobΒ

Yeah it does suck, she's been 'working' on it for well over 3 months now and it seems to be excuse after excuse as to why she hasn't done it yet, just gets me kinda wound up but hopefully it'll all go well and I'll be getting this book kickstarted. Haha believe me you've done more than enough, the art is incredible you didn't screw around with me and you did it without any problem, you did awesomely I'm sure you're going to be at least 90% of the reason people take interest in itΒ

Well hopefully she gets it done. Have you considered looking for another editor? Maybe one who would get it done in a more timely fashion? Perhaps give her a deadline you'd want her to follow so you won't be waiting so long for it.Β
I don't think Id be the largest reason xD I have a very small audience, and an even smaller one that I think would actually buy it (I don't mean to crush your hopes or anything, but I really dont have many watchers who have money to spend on books and what not since a lot of them are just teenagers). I tried not to take to long since you kind of did it last minute and I wasnt sure if it was in dire need XD my current project I am working on has almost not dire need to be done really quickly so I have taken my time and have given excuse after excuse why it hasnt been done yet XD uguu im such a bad artist when it comes to timely finishings. Especially during school time.Β

I'm not even sure you know? I mean she asked me about a few things which I believe were about halfway through so I think she did start it even if she hasn't finished it. Haha I like to be lazy too, it's a very valued hobby of mine

Love love love love love your fabric shading~ The colors you chose are really strong for both that and the background too.
The only thing that bugs me is the back of her dress, where it ends and meets her skin. I feel like that should be concave (or at least more flat) instead of convex on account of the flatness of a back.
