"I don't know where I'm going, I'm searching for answers, I don't know who I'm fighting, I stand with empty eyes" ~ Within Temptation Empty EyesMy OC, Gale Xelhes, whom is soon actually going to make a real apperance in my graphic novel in about 3 weeks.
Originally I wasn't going to finish this. I started on Sunday, and I was just sketching and playing around with the layer mask I finally figured out. Than my friend ~RomanceTragedy came over and just like changed the entire colour scheme. Originally one side of the sky was going to be a light blue, nd the other half was going to be purple-gray colour. But it look retarded. And I think once I started working on the rocks I really wanted to finish this, since I think my best part of this entire painting was the rocks. Which I got the wrong perspective on, but oh well I think it looks good.

Because I wasn't sure if it count's as background when parts of it is (a little) closer than the person is.

Ohh I see.
Well to clearify, there are 3 grounds in a landscape picture. A background, which is the furthest thing back, in this the sky would be the background. There is a middle ground which would be the sea. The middle ground is in the middle of the background and the foreground. The foreground is what is not the subject but is closest to you, so the rocks/cliff.
