Description

Decided to draw a station scene for a change. When I was ten, I visited the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway with my family. The locomotive that hauled our train was a "Mountain" Class named Samson; at the time, Samson had smoke deflectors and red siderods. We went down to Dungeness, where we had an ice cream while watching the driver polish Samson.We travelled up to Hythe, where we had fish and chips in the station cafe before visiting the gift shop; my siblings and I received a badge of one of the line's locomotives (My brother received Green Goddess, my youngest sister had Black Prince, my younger sister had Hurricane and I received a badge with Hercules. I don't know where the Green Goddess, Black Prince or Hurricane badges are but I have a rough idea of where my badge is. If I can find it I'll take a picture of it) I also got a notepad and pencil as a tenth birthday present, and after leaving the gift shop I saw on the opposite platform the locomotive Northern Chief. I decided to do a sketch of Northern Chief on the platform in my notepad, before watching the locomotive vanish with the rake of coaches. Ten minutes later, Green Goddess arrived on the platform we were on and we boarded the train back to New Romney. My siblings, on the train, was playing "I Spy" and looking at people's back gardens.

I decided to do some artwork based on the sketch I did when I was ten.
