If it weren't the curious rocks of the ice slats they walked on; the Alaskan whale that pestered the tokotas with it's constant tail slaps to the water they were sure to fall into the ice cold water any time soon. The whale, though a hindrance in their journey was not what they worried about hiding under the surface, for if the temperature of the water didn't kill them, the orca that followed after the whales would surely go at it. As much as Xerxes gambled about before starting on the ice bridge he had wizened up at least enough to watch his footing and let himself jump across the ice slabs towards the other side. How much further they had to go neither tokota had any idea, but Rocket was good enough company and he was ready to loosen up all the built up energy the adrenaline pumping through his body was causing. Rocket, though irritated to be wet with salt water, kept pace with the almost panicking male beside him, almost ignoring their riders as Keith jested Cael about getting soaked. The high pitched wails from underneath them and another smack of freezing cold water blasted over the ice and all over poor Xerxes and Cael. The male let out a small whine and shook his neck, ridding a small part of the water from his fur but the salt still clung and he soon started to itch.
