(Early) Merry new years eve! Part one of three.
So please don't flip out because your OC isn't included. Sorry about that.

Long A.N. ahead--tl;dr: I was inspired, I drew a festive piece, happy new years. I'll draw two more later.

Anyway.
Every year (up till this one) one of my favorite holidays has always been new years. Why? Because my family is a mix of cultures so we have a bajillion really really fun traditions to practice.
Since we're Chinese, we always play with a ton of fireworks and stay up till five or so in the morning. At midnight there's also a really long chain of firecrackers and a firebomb, but I'm not drawing that.
But, fireworks are now banned. And permits cost a LOT of money. So, now all I have are good memories... What horrible people, right? Ruining a huge tradition? There are a ton of Chinese people here, we're ALL very disappointed. Not much i can do though, so I decided to draw the fire-play instead. lols.

The second picture will be the American traditions, basically just watching a fireworks show with a best friend/lover, whatever, someone close. You know what I mean.
But, I've never watched fireworks from the roof before, but i love rooftops, so I thought it'd be a good setting anyway...

The last picture will be the Japanese traditions, which actually include more walking around to shrines and getting your fortune for the year told, but being a family of Christians and non-Buddhists, we just eat a crapload of Japanese food and make mochi. .____.;;;
