Soft shaded sketch line art commission for *ladyvenommyo of her character Alvah! c:Yes, the title is totally Gears inspired. For no reason other than the fact that I have Gears on the brain. :v
So I've actually had this sketched out since Monday of last week (Sept 19th)... but due to Gears 3 coming out I sort of went into total-distraction-mode and just couldn't sit down to finish it until I came back from my 'Gears Break'.
I haven't soft shaded in a long, long time (I prefer cel and actual painterly styles of coloring). I am rusty( And I remembered why I decided to turn to cel shading for these: So much faster). But I hope people enjoy this one either way! I certainly had fun with it ~ D:
Please keep in mind, I do not want crits. Honestly on all of these sketch commissions I really do not care for them. xD

Cel shading is the cartoony style of shading you find in just about any animated venture except 3d works. It's flat but still shows dimension.

Wow what a great dessing! The horns, the head, those wings, the whole body is great! I'm impressed with all the details and how it's colored, i love it! I think green it's the colour that suits the most, and i like it even though i hate green xD. This must go to favourites.

If you made a universe, I would sell my soul to the devil to live in it because it'd be so great. Dude, totaly love your art. I can see that it actualy is a reptile, and not a pussy warmblood dragon. Mmm way to make something jump off the page.

I have no idea if the character is ecto or endothermic. For various fundamental and anatomical reasons I'd much rather a dragon be endothermic (warm blooded) rather than ectothermic (it wouldn't need to sun itself in order to raise its body temperature or metabolism) Just because a dragon is endothermic doesn't mean it cannot have scales, claws, spikes, etc.

True, but I don't think I really worded what I was trying to get accrost right. I should have said "nice" rather then warm blooded. I mean, dragons in legends have always been fierce, and not "whimpy".
