How very interesting, (and judging by the unintentional graphite smears, your a lefty too).
Something about this reminds me of a carved relief and/or royal device... dunno why though
But this is cool ^.=.^

yup, south paw right here
hmm, interesting, was meant to just be practice for a ref sheet, was no real symbolic value such as that of a relief
thanks very much ^.=.^!

www.dragoart.com/ <-- good a place as any to start learning. Dont forget to keep your pencil sharp (or cheat like me and use a mechanical pencil), and to practice any chance you get.

I have been looking at the first fantasy tutorial for teh lulz. (How to draw a dragon (Actually a wyvern!) from skyrim.)
And I can tell you, step 1 is already too hard.
I am willing to spend 3-4 hours drawing something worthy of deviantart. But I am less willing to spend 3-4 months just learning how to draw.
I once looked at online tutorials, and all of those tutorials required me to spend 4 hours a day (!) just drawing random stuff that'll just go into the waste bin at the end of the day. With noticeable results only appearing after 2 months.

its a long haul, for sure. but think about it: i did the same thing, wasting time doing random doodles, during a bachelor of IT. Β sure theres no immediate improvement, but every picture you draw is a learning excercise, and with learning comes improvment

This is about as good as I can get: sta.sh/0186kpzfy12y (5-10% chance that a drawing will turn out that good, cuz the average is even worse.)
And as far as practicing any change I get goes, 90% of my spare time goes to gaming and writing. So I don't have much time for practice.
P.S. I don't know if you can browse my stash, but if you can, feel free to check the other drawings I have on it.

lol, gaming... well its not a complete waste of time. but some of that time could be better spent. heck if youre playing minecraft id say youre doing the same thing as drawing, its just with a more groovy brush.

I do play minecraft (maybe not in the past 4 weeks), but I'd say it's not an entire waste of time.
Most of my knowledge of the english language, came from gaming.

Eeeeeerm, perhaps. The builds sort of different than the bipedals from dracozine, it's more of an adaptive quadruped structure

Those and blending stumps are great sketch tools, along with an erase template.
With the real drawing in hand, even the silver color (graphite) is there.

π: 0 β©: 1
Skyder117 In reply to Robinton [2013-07-19 14:34:11 +0000 UTC]
them feet... on quadrepeds, digitigrade stance is like you see on cats, where its only the tips of the feet, where the toes are, that are actually on the ground. the feet are long like that because they adopt a digitigrade stance when walking
so there ya go, and thanks!
