I would love Benedict Cumberbatch as Strange. Or if not, maybe he could voice a CG Dormammu.

I think Cliff Simon should be Doctor Strange.

Neeson would be pretty cool. I've heard Jim Caviezel suggested, and I think he could do a pretty badass job.
But the world can burn for all I care if Depp gets this one. I'll bring the matches.Β

I was so excited when I read about the rumors that I almost went even more insane!! I mean, Doctor Strange is the Sorcerer Supreme, for crying out loud! And Dormammu, I mean DORMAMMU!! Brilliant poster. You are AWESOME.

Would you consider doing a Young Avengers poster?
Also, I think that Patrick Dempsey is lobbying to play Doctor Strange.

Very Nice poster, i don't know who would be a good Strange Either though hopefully it is at least some good actor that will not let us down.

Cool.
Though I love Jim Caviezel (whoever decided him as Strange), do you think I find it a little bit odd if Robert Downey Jr. was Strange?
Yikes.
Him being Iron Man is awesome, but what if he were chosen as Strange? I think he'd kinda look like Strange. Strange enough, huh? (Oops. Bad pun.)
But, you know, Chris Evans was Torchy in "Fantastic Four", and now he's the hottie Captain America! So, why not?

that is some really epic stuff man. Fiennes would be great, but what about Nestor Carbonell?

nimibro In reply to SkinnyGlasses [2011-04-17 19:56:41 +0000 UTC]
if you want a cocky Strange, Rufus Sewell could pull it off pretty well, Hamm i see working but Everett is in his 50's and i still can't wash the horrid taste of his Dr. Claw. my 3 top choices as of now are Carbonell, Sewell and Fiennes (common CBM user: "NOOOOOOOOOOOO! it should be JOHNNY DEPP, JOHNNY DEPP and JOHNNY DEPP" yeah, i'm pretty tired of him being suggested as Dr. Strange every single millisecond).

I love Rufus Sewell but I actually like him more for Baron Mordo, though I think a more physically imposing actor would probably be better.
I just think Everett has a near perfect look, although his new 'plastic' face isn't that great.
And god no to Depp. He's not only suggested far, far too much, it's ridiculous to think he'd take the role. Add to the fact that Strange is supposed to be somewhat intimidating, in both intelligence and to an extent physically, it's insane that people see Depp as filling either of those criteria.
I've got nothing against Depp for the most part, although his performance in Alice in Wonderland was extremely dissapointing, but this is a role I just do not want him in. He's too big for it. It's impossible to suspend your disbelief with him anymore.

My choices for Strange would be:
James Franco
Jon Hamn
Alex O'Loughlin (Steve McGarret on Hawaii Five-O)
Karl Urban
Eric Bana

a bit of an oddball choice, but what about my former Zod choice, Dominic West, as Mordo? and yeah, i can understand that he looked like Strange in 1 movie in the 90's, but basing a casting just on that is BS. he seemed very forced in Alice in Wonderland, and my god... his Willy Wonka was so irriating. it's like a beaver sitting on your ear and gnawing it. what about Hugh Laurie? he can pull off both the cockiness and the intimidation factor of the character. Laurie/Sewell or Carbonell/West would manage for pretty good Strange/Mordo combinations. what about Christopher Lee as Dormammu or Andy Serkis as Shuma-Gorath?

SkinnyGlasses In reply to nimibro [2011-04-23 18:06:27 +0000 UTC]
I think that Carbonell/West could work but Laurie/Sewell wouldn't because Laurie is 6"2, while Rufus is only 6 foot.
Overall Laurie is a big no no from me. I mean, I adore him and have practically been raised on his comedic work and House, but for the first thirty minutes or more of a Doctor Strange movie that's who he'll be playing. House. An arrogant doctor who's still inexplicably great at their job.
I just think that parallel is too obvious for me to want him cast.
Btw, your choices for Dormammu and Shuma-Gorath are f**king ace!
Also, who is your choice for Clea? I wouldn't mind Sophia Myles.

nimibro In reply to SkinnyGlasses [2011-04-24 10:21:41 +0000 UTC]
yeah, Dr. Strange is kinda like House i guess. now it's between Sewell and West for Mordo i guess.
thanks a lot man! another actor who can work for dormammu is Tim Curry, but i'm not sure about him.
my idea was either Marion Cortillard or Diane Kruger for Clea, and either Daniel Dae Kim or Ken Leung for Wong.

I think I'd prefer West as Mordo. He just seems more right for the role.
Hmmm, I do love Tim Curry, but he doesn't seem serious enough for the role. I'd need to see him in a role that really shows his acting skills.
I like the sound of Diane Kruger and I'd prefer Kim; he just seems better for Wong.

nimibro In reply to SkinnyGlasses [2011-04-25 16:57:00 +0000 UTC]
yeah, West also was my choice for Zod, but now with Shannon in the role that's not a possibility, but he can still be a great Mordo.
Curry did some fantastic voice work in the 90's, and he can be a good villain, but i think for this round Lee takes the lead.
