So I started this an eon and a half ago, and it was a gift started for my lovely , and I've posted the WIP portions of it both here and on my art tumblr >> sketchymaloo.tumblr.com

But this is an original concept I had a great while back and I finally.....FINALLY finished it. I had started the colors and gotten over halfway into the final coloring when I completely botched the tail and skin tones and was letting it press dry and then.....it went missing and I have never recovered it. So I completely restarted from scratch after a motivation stint and over the last few weeks I've piddled with it on and off all month long and finally got it retransferred to a new watercolor sheet, inked, and painted. I tried a few new things this time around. Mainly the biggest challenge was that during the re-ink process I attempted brush inking.....I need more practice with that and I'm not doing that again any time soon on a finished piece. I had to do damage control but it turned out okay. I've also never tried layered transparency on watercolors before (the fins) and I guess it's okay for a first attempt.

But oh I'm so happy to have this finished just in time for Animazement, where it'll be also debuting as a new print option!

Done entirely in watercolor with some added colored pencil and black and white ink touch ups, small edits and cropping done in PS.
