Also, it's probably due to Joan of Arc's role being more of support than battling head-on, now that I think about it. And uh, healers are usually a support...? XP Whatever the reason, you guessed better than any Jaune's semblance theory video probably did. XD

Jaune is a great support as Mercy. He first supports his comrades by distracting all enemy combatants by his audacious outfit, draws enemy focus with that nice behind, does healing and all that stuff along with keeping morale high with giggles and noice outfit.
P.S. Arkos combo works splendidly with the Arc distraction and spartan jelly justice raining from above

Yes, really. Jaune is much more of a support character than an offensive one. He's usually in the back calling out strategies and whatnot, and his ult in Grimm Eclipse gives everyone a big damage boost. Even if his semblance doesn't turn out to be healing, it still makes sense to me.

you can use your aura to heal. If you watch season 1 pyrrha activates his aura and it heals him. Its an ability just granted to anything with sufficent aura
