Been working on/off on this artwork for a month, I wasn't sure how I wanted to proceed when it got to shadows and light, so I left it for a few weeks, but here it is, finally finished, and I honestly think it's my best one so far. :3I've used tons of textures I found online for free personal and commercial use, they helped allot, so thanks to you guys out there making other peoples lives easier, you rock!
I realize something is off about Aria's Right arm, I didn't have references of the pose in this angle, so I couldn't really figure out what to do to make it work, so it has been left as such.
Anyways, enjoy some random Aria-Femshep artwork!
Edit: Forgot to draw the N7 Ensigna... how could I?

What do you want to do digitally? I couldn't make things work for me in the start.

Just flat shading to start with I guess, when I get my new computer set up I'm going to have another go at it

My friends showed me something really helpful, especially with lineart. When you're doing some art-lines, let say you're drawing Tali, and you're done with the lines, you go a little round around the edges to make sure everything is closed off, then you use the magic wand to select everything outside Tali, and then invert it. Then on a new layer you color it all one color (some grey perhaps), make sure this layer is beneath the lines. This way you have a quick selection of you character, and can select it when working there, this way you won't color any of the background by accident.
I usually then work my way up with the base colors, each on their own layer, skin, jackets, suits, details, etc. For shades I would then begin a new group of layers, with darker tones. I decide from where the light comes, and then begin shading. But lately I began doing something else, thank to Tumblr, maybe that post can help you too.
