Prologue to the stories of Shard.

Golden rays of sunlight shine through the windows brining a bit of warmth to the otherwise cool room, but only to the places upon which the light lay. Motes of dust float through the air and in the light of the sun, lend to the room an apperance of a thin fog or an early morining myst. Talanashta Ianwynn, young by the reconong of elves, quietly makes her way through the back halls of the ancient library. She intendes to confront the head librarian, not for the first time mind you, about a book she believes has gone missing from the archives. She takes several deep, slow breathes, willing herself into a state of calm. Knowing full well that none of these confrontations, thus far, have ended in her favor, she lets out a final deep breath and with her will set firm, she makes her move.
