We now return to Gigantamaxes at long last! Four more of them remain for Sundo, and as of now, three more are left to draw. Dolomassu has come a long way, it seems, and though he wasn't one of the fakemon planned to get a Gmax form, I figured it'd be nice to give him one for completeness' sake. I honestly can't believe it took me this long to realize that even though the Sundo region is based on my ancestral home of Indonesia, not once did I even consider basing any of the fakemon I created for it off the famous candi bentar gateways of Java and Bali - something which the Zorneo region on Instagram and Twitter actually used as a basis for one of the fossil fakemon from there. Luckily, since Dolomassu is based on a temple statue, making the Gmax into something combining that with a split gate was the next logical step, and while it took me a bit to figure out how to integrate it I figured making the front legs and shoulders into the gate halves was the most economical option. This thing is utterly ridiculous and I love him even more for it! XD

You'll also notice that I slipped in a hint at the lore explaining how Gigantamaxing is present in both Sundo and Galar. This came from a discussion on Discord yesterday with a few friends about why this is the case, whereupon I suggested the idea that it may have been present in Sundo before it was brought to Galar, with Chairman Rose essentially performing the classic dick move called cultural appropriation. Given that part of Sundo's theme is about how to handle foreign influence as a nod to how Indonesia was once colonized by the Dutch, I figured it'd be worth exploring this idea a bit in this manner. Of course I might consider renaming the Gmaxing to something else to further this point, but I'm not sure. Feel free to let me know your thoughts in the comments!
