Saw Megamind yesterday, loved it, thought of this. I think I've found a new way to squander the precious time I SHOULD be spending on the semester-long Maya project I'm working on...

To put it in TLDR terms, I loved it. I had low expectations when the first trailer came out, so I was pleasantly surprised that this movie was almost as good as Kung Fu Panda and the Madagascar series (though it pales compared to How to Train Your Dragon of course). The namesake protagonist (who looked really cute in his Bernard disguise IMO, I hope he keeps it) has quite a bit of character and emotion, even though he starts out as the obligatory Lex Luthor-style enemy. In truth, he is indeed a pathetic villain, considering that Tighten was a LOT more sadistic and vicious, so I guess it's a good thing that he finally decides to spend the rest of his 88 life sentences doing community service. Minion and Roxanne are also good characters to counterbalance MM's wildly ambitious temprament, and Minion's forget-me-stick parts in particular made me lol so hard it hurt.

For this scenario, which occurs while he is still in his villainous days, I imagine that for once, Megamind actually manages to kidnap someone other than Roxanne. He's been itching to try out his new device on someone, and since I'm ticklish pretty much all over I make a very promising candidate. Honestly, though, you really think that's gonna work, MM? Shadow is going to come for you, I just know it.
The one thing a bit lacking about MM, admittedly, is that his only genuine power is his super-intelligence. I imagine that in my fanfictions, he ends up discovering the ability to produce a powerful psionic blast (which is blue of course) from his oversized forehead, which he doesn't hesitate to use on anyone who messes with him for the sole purpose of lulz.
