Physical Description: Sundown has the typical dark purple scales of her tribe, with a reddish belly and wings. She is somewhat on the small side, especially for her tribe, which is a bit of an insecurity for her. Her oddest feature is her eyes - her right one is pale purplish blue, while her left one is a bright turquoise. While this doesn't affect her vision in any way, it is a slightly weird combination that on good days she finds pretty and on bad days, not so much.

Loyal
Once they gain her trust, Sundown will do practically anything for a friend. She is devoted in a secretive way, never showing how much she cares while doing anything to keep them safe. She might even be labeled 'clingy' were she not so subtle about it. Very often, she grows attached to a dragon without them knowing it, and it comes as a surprise when they learn how devoted the seemingly uncaring dragon is to them.

Trustworthy
Whether you are a friend or merely an acquaintance, you can trust this dragon to keep practically any secret. Not only does she consider secrecy to be extremely important, she is always very proud when entrusted with one, and wouldn't betray a potential friend for the world.

Smart
One of the few things Sundown truly likes about herself is her ability to solve problems and memorize things. In the small school she went to in her village, when her teachers weren't scolding her for disobeying them they were complimenting her on her excellent grades. This is part of the reason her mothers sent her away to the academy: they felt that the education the schools near them would be too easy for her, and they wanted her to learn as much as she could before adulthood.

Empathetic
While she may not make it obvious, Sundown cares a great deal how she makes others feel. If she is afraid that her words have gone beyond irritating someone and have seriously hurt them, she gets a horrible feeling of guilt in the pit of her stomach. When a dragon is hurt, emotionally or physically, she feels the pain herself, and is the first to offer comfort in her own subtle way. She isn't one to hug or give exclamations of condolences. Instead, she will do her best to seem a protective presence, be it with the touch of a talon or tail, or a very out-of-character word of kindness.

Ambitious
Since her early hatching days, the NightWing has strived for greatness. She has always dreamed big, of being smart or rich or loved. This can motivate her, but it can also cause her a great deal of unhappiness when things don't go as planned.

Brave
Sundown possesses the normally admirable trait of bravery. Never backing down from a fight and never showing her fear is one of the dragonet's most prized traits. This can, however, be both a good thing and a bad thing. While it gives her life a taste of adventure, she can also be reckless and too daring.

Defensive
The NightWing often hears unimportant, casual remarks as challenges or insults, causing her to lash out or grow quiet and sullen, eyes blazing with anger. She is very quick-tongued, able to defend herself or a dragon she cares about by outsmarting her opponent.

Impatient
Sundown has always valued speed, and when something is taking longer than she thinks it should she gets restless and annoyed, even if she is the one causing the delay.

Stubborn
The dragonet cannot admit when she is wrong. Even if she knows it, she will be embarrassed and sometimes ashamed, and refuses to back down. When she knows she is right she will be even more unmoving and insistent.

Snappish
This trait is perhaps the main reason it is so hard for her to make friends. She isn't exactly pleasant when you first meet her, and even as you get to know her she'll remain arrogant and sharp-tongued. It is only when she completely trusts you that she will let this guard down and show her friendly side. This doesn't mean she doesn't like you, however. Even if she finds you the most charming or funny dragon in the world she will treat you the same.

Sensitive
To many, Sundown appears to be cold-hearted and arrogant, too obsessed with herself to care what others think. This couldn't be further from the truth. Deep down, beneath her impatient and prickly exterior, she craves friendship. All she wants is to be loved despite her (many) flaws, and for others to see through the guard she keeps up at all times. Perhaps this is selfish of her, to want something so impossible, but she can't help it. Unkind words, no matter how small, injure her greatly.

H I S T O R Y

Pre-Hatching Day
Courage and Dreamseer has been best friends since they were dragonets, often mistaken as sisters. While they joked about this fact, they both found it very disturbing. It wasn't until they were fully grown adults that they realized their feelings for each other. They got married and were wives for about a year before they considered adoption. They could only afford the one egg, and they treasured it like it was their own biological daughter.

Early Life
Sundown hatched on a night of a full moon. A cloudy night of a full moon. She often cursed the weather for taking away the chance of powers, but deep down she was relieved. She wasn't sure she'd be able to handle such a responsibility, and to be perfectly honest, such abilities scared her. Growing up in a tribe scattered with the occasional mind reader caused her to be so scared and paranoid in her early years that her mothers eventually saved up to buy her a skyfire stone, which she wore in a pouch around her neck and guarded as if it were her soul (Later she had it broken down into smaller pieces and inlayed in a pair of gloves which she wore constantly).
At the age of two, Sundown was enrolled in the primary school in her village where she learned the basics of reading, writing, and math, but she was never satisfied with the knowledge that was provided. She wanted to know more. When Sundown turned four, Courage got a job in the palace working for Queen Dart Frog and her salary increased substantially. Suddenly, possibilities for the small dragonet's future were opening up. Possibilities including the legendary school of Jade Mountain Academy. It took a year to prepare, but a week after her fifth hatching day Sundown was packing her bags to embark on the long journey to the mountain.
