I have started a little drawing project.
I have done a research about archangels and decided to draw the four most famous of them: Gabriel, Michael, Raphael and Uriel. This is the archangel Gabriel, he is the angel of the annunciation, resurrection, mercy, vengeance, death, and revelation. His (sometimes her) name means "Hero of God."
Apart from Michael, Gabriel is the only other angel mentioned by name in the Old Testament. He was said to sit on the left hand side of God. In many religious writings Gabriel has appeared as a messenger and deliverer to humanity of blessed events. Mohammed claimed that it was Gabriel (Gibril in Islamic) who dictated to him the Koran. In Christian beliefs, Gabriel was the Angel who appeared to Mary to inform her that she would conceive and give birth to Jesus. Gabriel's emblem is the lily, symbolizing conception.

This is Indy. Greetings for 2014 from Canada!! I hope this finds you and yours well.
I'm a fan fiction writer in the BBC Sherlock fandom. I'm writing an AU (alternative universe) tale entitled, "O, Holy Night!" In it, I'm thnking, along with my Danish writing partner, of having Benedict Cumberbatch as the archangel Gabriel. I do like the outfit you have your Gabriel in this art piece and was wondering if I could borrow it for my tale? By the by, how many pairs of wings do archangels have? I read somewhere they could have as many as six pairs. Isn't that a little much?

Just to let you know that Gabriel is also the prince of fire and the spirit of lightning and ripening of fruit. Where as Michael is known as the highest Gabriel is called the mightiest
